Washington: Olympic Peninsula

Enter a world visitors say is among the most magical they’ve ever experienced. Stretching from snowy peaks to a wild Pacific shore, this is the heart of North America’s ancient rainforest—a vast walker’s paradise where thousand-year-old, moss-draped trees rise hundreds of feet into the sky and magnificent waterfalls tumble to fields of brilliant wildflowers and deep-blue lakes.

You’ll trek through giant fir and cedar trees at Graves Creek and Pony Bridge, where the Quinault River plunges down a narrow gorge. Follow the Hoh River through majestic cathedral groves of towering sitka spruce, then ride the river itself past mergansers and otters. Take trails through forests to breathtaking Sol Duc Falls and pristine Deer Lake, whose subalpine meadows offer views of the Olympic range. Visit with Harvest Moon, a Quinault storyteller who’ll share tales and traditions, and dig into a bounty of fresh salmon, local produce, just-picked berries, and other Northwestern delicacies on a journey our guests have described as nothing short of spiritual.
